The People Who Care for Your Pets

Dr Rebecca Bugg

Rebecca founded VetCall in 2005, starting as a house-call service before expanding to a full clinic in West Footscray. With over 15 years of experience, she remains passionate about veterinary care and loves treating pets as part of the family.

Her special interest is integrative medicine, offering holistic treatments such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She completed the IVAS Veterinary Acupuncture course in 2003, has undertaken further study in Chinese herbs, and is a proud member of the Australian Veterinary Association.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys the outdoors with her young family and their two lively Labradors, Poppy and Barney — along with her cat, Pickles, who rules the household.

Dr Gloria Perkovic

Gloria graduated with honours in Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne in 2004 and has worked across private practice and academia, including teaching at the University of Sydney. She has since returned to Melbourne’s west, where she focuses on small animal practice.

Her special interests include rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, birds, and reptiles. Gloria has completed further training in veterinary acupuncture and small animal behavioural medicine.

Outside of work, she enjoys baking elaborate cakes and caring for her lively household of pets — two dogs, two cats, four rabbits, six chickens, a guinea pig, and a quail.

Eliza

Eliza began working as a veterinary nurse in mid-2008.  She is registered under the AVNAT scheme and is also a qualified zoologist.  She enjoys all aspects of nursing, but particularly loves the variety of tasks that comes with working in small animal practice, and has a special interest in exotic and wildlife health.  She started at Vetcall in 2016 and currently works across surgery, consult and reception roles.

When not at work, Eliza likes to keep herself busy. She is often studying on the side, to combine her interest in animal health and wildlife conservation, and still does the occasional fauna consulting job. She has four young children, and somehow ended up with five indoor cats, as well as an empty aquarium she’d like to fill with fish one day.

Kate

Kate graduated Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Animal Science and Management. She has worked in both general practice and shelter medicine over her years as a veterinary nurse.

Kate loves all animals, great and small. She has a fat ginger cat named Mr. Squash.

Is Titre Testing Right for Your Pet?

When it comes to protecting pets from disease, annual vaccinations are important — but they may not always be necessary. At Vetcall, we offer titre testing as a science-based way to check your pet’s immunity before giving boosters. This simple blood test measures antibody levels for core diseases, helping us determine if your dog or cat is already protected.

For dogs, we test against parvovirus, distemper, and adenovirus (hepatitis). For cats, we test for panleukopenia, calicivirus, and herpesvirus. If immunity is still strong, your pet may not need a booster, reducing unnecessary interventions and stress on their system.

Why Pet Owners Choose Titre Testing

✔ Personalised care — tailored to your pet’s unique needs
✔ Avoids over-vaccination and reduces stress on the immune system
✔ Aligned with holistic veterinary care and wellbeing
✔ Same-day results at Vetcall (no need to send samples away)

How Often Should It Be Done?

We recommend titre testing every three years for core vaccines after your pet’s initial vaccination series and 12-month booster, though some pets may hold immunity even longer.
